Our Life Together

Rexburg, ID, United States
We've been married for 5 years! We met here in Rexburg, Idaho where we lived in the same apartment complex, volunteered with similar church callings, and attended the same university. It was only a matter of time before we'd bump into each other! Kelly graduated with her bachelors in psychology and has since been working with mentally ill adults and children. She has been accepted to Drexel Univeristy for her Masters in Higher Education Administration and Organizational Management. Sam recently graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with his bachelors in English Literature. We've had so much fun and so many growing experiences in the past 5 years, and have weathered so much good and bad during our young marriage. And we love each other so much more as a result of the happy and sad experiences that we have gone through hand in hand with each other and with the Savior. Our life is a simple one, but it's ours and we're glad to have it.

Phew!

I just gave my first ever live online classroom presentation :) My partner and I created a powerpoint that discussed academic affairs at a university and college. It was nerve wracking and also exhilarating to present to my class and professor live via our computers. I literally just finished speaking about 15 minutes ago and so my hands are still shaking, lol! I do love public speaking though, in spite of the nervousness :)

This is the last week of school! I have to complete a paper, make a powerpoint, and do two audio postings about what I've learned and then I am DONE!

Oh, and I had my interview with Mark Browning, the Chief Legislative and Communications Officer of Idaho's Dept. of Education. Instead of driving out to Boise, I opted for a phone interview. It was great! Mr. Browning was so helpful in giving me a half hour of his time as we discussed topics in Idaho's higher education. He was very kind and informative, and he's made my assignment to create a powerpoint based off of the interview much easier!

I have learned so much this semester, especially as this is a totally new field for me. I am also learning to utilize and navigate through the technology in a way I've never been challenged to do before. This whole experience has been really challenging, but in several positive ways.
