I am just so grateful for all of the help I've received from Heavenly Father in coming to this point, the advice of those who have taken a similar road before me, and for the patient, patient ears of my friends and family, especially Sam and my mom. They listened to me "think out loud" about this decision for such a long time. And the timing is perfect. If I had gone sooner, I may have sought out a counseling degree at Idaho State University, which is a 90 minute commute one way, not to mention a lengthier degree program. (And I love working in mental health; it's actually so much fun for me, but I think that education administration is a better path for me and my family at this time. The mental health profession will still be there for me when I'm finished with this degree, and I can always incorporate it into my new profession, especially if I become a university administrator with a little part-time counseling on the side.) The amount of time I would have had to invest at Idaho State University would have definitely meant sacrificing time with Sam and our home and family. But now with this new job that is so much closer and has better pay, I don't have to be gone as much, which means more time to study, but still having quality time with Sam each day. I mean, I will certainly have to manage my time well, but it won't be as much of a juggling act with the school/work arrangement that I feel so blessed to have!
Speaking of managing time, I really need to go to bed ;) Goodnight!
