Our Life Together

Rexburg, ID, United States
We've been married for 5 years! We met here in Rexburg, Idaho where we lived in the same apartment complex, volunteered with similar church callings, and attended the same university. It was only a matter of time before we'd bump into each other! Kelly graduated with her bachelors in psychology and has since been working with mentally ill adults and children. She has been accepted to Drexel Univeristy for her Masters in Higher Education Administration and Organizational Management. Sam recently graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with his bachelors in English Literature. We've had so much fun and so many growing experiences in the past 5 years, and have weathered so much good and bad during our young marriage. And we love each other so much more as a result of the happy and sad experiences that we have gone through hand in hand with each other and with the Savior. Our life is a simple one, but it's ours and we're glad to have it.

Random Thoughts By Kelly

I just feel like rambling because I like to talk and this is almost like talking, but quieter, which is good because I have a headache. It was a productive week at work and I had fun, worked hard, and am glad for a quiet Friday night. This week at work I discussed suicide, depression, manipulation, healthy relationship boundaries, set weight loss goals with a client, assisted with budgeting and life insurance, attended 3 doctor appointments and 2 psychiatrist appointments, gained more information about community resources such as the domestic violence office, instructed a woman on how to protect herself from physical abuse and encouraged her levels of assertiveness and self-esteem, assisted to decrease the severity of schizophrenic delusions, among other topics and activities. No week is ever the same for me; I love being in the social services field. It can be stressful and emotionally exhausting, but also exciting and emotionally fulfilling.

I've been home for about 90 minutes, showered off the cigarette smoke and other smells of the day ;), chatted with Sam about his music equipment and band name ideas, and have taken some beloved Tylenol for this owie of a headache--it might be one of those "ow this hurts so bad I'm going to throw-up headaches."  I'll keep you posted ;) Tomorrow is a busy day for me--paying bills, paperwork for the job, continuing this almost manic urge I've had for spring cleaning and organizing our drawers and closets, grocery shopping, gym, and I think that will be it. Oh, a little Easter planning too.  And then Sunday I am churching and hanging out with my hubby and just relaxing!  Phew, these past few months I have felt stretched really thin! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel though, and I think by the end of summer I will have my "to do" list nicely whittled down.

But for some light-hearted thoughts, here are just a few of several things that made me smile recently:

*Waving to the people dressed up in costumes and standing on corners advertising stuff. I love  waving to them, especially when they smile and wave back harder. It's just fun.

*Sam and I selling back a massive amount of textbooks and getting some cash back. Yay!

*Eating chocolate cake for breakfast.

*Painting my nails hot pink.

*Coloring on Sam while he was sleeping. He didn't wake up from it and I was dying trying not to laugh.

*Listening to old-time country music that I grew up listening to with my grandparents. I love nostalgia.

Okay that's it for now. I'm going to go eat chocolate cake.
