Hola Familia! I am trying to think of some Easter ideas for Sam and I for this Sunday. I am all for coloring Easter eggs and an egg hunt, chocolates, little baskets, etc., but Sam wants something more focused upon the Savior. So I am thinking about us going to the temple on Saturday, having a nice Easter dinner on Sunday, and maybe a church video on Sunday. What's a good one about the resurrection? I know Testaments is, but I'm still burnt out from watching that a bazillion times on my mission. Any others? And maybe Sam will at relent to at least one thing Easter bunnyish!!! I want to do both--have a spiritual focus upon the Savior AND be a complete kid :)

Sounds like a lot of fun!! Happy Easter!!
My favorite Easter movie...."To this end was I born" I think it was a seminary movie.
Here is a list of some suggested Easter Movies. As always I am glad to help:
1. Easter Parade (DVD) (1948)
Don Hewes (Fred Astaire) is devastated when his longtime dancing partner, Nadine Hale (Ann Miller), breaks up the team to set out on her own. Determined to prove that he can succeed without her, Astaire vows that he can pick any random chorus girl and make her a star. He picks Hannah Brown (Judy Garland), and the two make the perfect pair. NR
2. It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (DVD) (1974)
No holiday is complete without the Peanuts. Charles Schultz' Peanuts gang go on a fun-filled Easter egg hunt, and this year they even get a glimpse of the Easter Bunny who looks suspiciously like a certain beagle. NR
3. Winnie the Pooh - Springtime with Roo (DVD) (2004)
In this springtime adventure, Roo gets excited about all the season has to offer -- warm weather, flowers, and Easter fun! However, Rabbit only cares about spring cleaning! Luckily, Roo teaches Rabbit that friendship is more important than being in control of things. The entire gang has a magical time as they learn all about the importance of friends.
4. Here Comes Peter Cottontail: The Movie (DVD) (2006)
HERE COMES PETER COTTONTAIL: THE MOVIE fashions a full-length sequel to the classic 1971 television special by legendary animators Jules Rankin and Arthur Bass. Updating the original's stop-motion puppetry with eyepopping CGI animation, the musical adventure takes place in the magical land of April Valley, where adorable bunny rabbit Peter Cottontail is preparing for Easter while his nemesis, the Evil Irontail, and the queen of winter, Jackie Frost, conspire to foil the holiday.
5. The Great Easter Egg Hunt (DVD)
Whiskers, a confused stuffed bunny rabbit in this animated adventure, must lead Peter's other toys in a quest for a cure for their owner's illness, so the little boy will be up and around by Easter. As the relentlessly upbeat rabbit canvasses the town for help after recruiting Peter's Spanish-accented parrot, Carmen, he eventually encounters the actual Easter Bunny. NR
6. Easter in Bunnyland (DVD)
Flip Rabbit, Buck, and Bitsy Bunny can't wait for Easter. When they discover that the Easter Bunny has been kidnapped, they must pull together to save their friend from the evil Beau Rat and his partner, J.J. NR
7. Dora the Explorer - Egg Hunt (DVD) (2004)
This Dora DVD volume includes two special holiday-themed episodes: in "Egg Hunt," Dora and Boots look for prize-filled eggs while dodging Swiper the fox; and in "El Dia de la Madres," Dora prepares for a Mother's Day party.
8. The Littlest Angel's Easter (DVD) (1998)
The Littlest Angel and a boy named Ryan are both having a tough time. As they celebrate Easter together, they learn that hope and faith in others goes a long way. While not specifically religious, the DVD does convey a moral story for children. NR
9. Yogi the Easter Bear (DVD) (1993)
It's Easter, and Yogi Bear is up to his old tricks stealing picnic baskets with his friend Boo Boo. When they find out that the Easter Bunny has been kidnapped, they must do everything they can to save him. NR
10. An Easter Bunny Adventure (DVD) (2000)
Celebrate Easter with this fun-filled, colorful animated video! Join the Easter Bunny on his exciting adventures.
I like the idea of doing a little something that is "Easter Bunnyish" like on Sat, and then watch a church movie on Sunday. We had an Easter FHE yesterday and may watch a movie Sunday too :)
Ooooh, I just love the Lewis family so stinkin' much! Thank you all so much for your suggestions! I love you guys! Mom--I think I know what movie you're talking about and I like it. Good suggestion. Matt--you're hilarious! I love the kid movies :) Question: Did you write the synopsis to each movie or did you copy them? Nikki--I really like the idea of Spring Bunny on Saturday and more of a spiritual focus on Sunday.
Oh and P.S. I can't wait to see you guys in May :) I took time off of work to make the trek out there with Sam-a-lamma. I don't want to miss his one year anniversary!
