Our Life Together

Rexburg, ID, United States
We've been married for 5 years! We met here in Rexburg, Idaho where we lived in the same apartment complex, volunteered with similar church callings, and attended the same university. It was only a matter of time before we'd bump into each other! Kelly graduated with her bachelors in psychology and has since been working with mentally ill adults and children. She has been accepted to Drexel Univeristy for her Masters in Higher Education Administration and Organizational Management. Sam recently graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with his bachelors in English Literature. We've had so much fun and so many growing experiences in the past 5 years, and have weathered so much good and bad during our young marriage. And we love each other so much more as a result of the happy and sad experiences that we have gone through hand in hand with each other and with the Savior. Our life is a simple one, but it's ours and we're glad to have it.

Temple Cleaning

I just got home a few minutes ago from cleaning the temple. My ward needed a couple of volunteers to clean tonight from 10pm t0 12am and I thought it would be a great service experience, and it was. Another sister from church and I were mainly in charge of mopping the floors and wiping down the insides of the lockers. And while we cleaned we got to know each other, which is so nice because it is a bit more difficult to get to know people in the ward during Sunday services, simply because we are there listening to speakers and teachers, and it's not exactly an ideal time for chatting :) So it was just a nice experience being able to get to know others from church, as well as being able to serve in the Lord's house in a way that I've never done before.

And do you know what's awesome? The other lady I was cleaning with volunteered to bring Sam and I a couple of dinners after she learned about his kidney disease. I wasn't asking or even looking for help, but she just offered. How nice! And it actually will be helpful to us! Seriously, no matter how much we serve the Lord, He always blesses us so much more in return.

What a cool experience. It is fun doing other stuff in the temple. One time I got to do the cooking in the temple cafeteria. I love doing service...it always comes back to you in one way or another.
