Sam and I live in Rexburg, Idaho and as north as we are, winter seems to last a very long time. This winter has been marked by plenty of snow, wind, and temps in the negatives. My cars doors were frozen so tightly shut one morning that I needed Sam's help to open it!
Plus I got into my first ever major car accident this winter. I was driving down highway 26, an old two lane highway, when my car began to fishtail on a very long length of black ice. I have always been able to keep control of my car when it begins to fishtail, but not this time. Within seconds my car was spinning 360 degrees and in the opposing lane. I continued out of control across the opposing lane into a snowy ditch, but not until my car hit and broke off a reflector pole. My front passenger door had a huge dent in it and the passenger window was completely shattered out. At the time I was actually working and had a client in the car--thankfully neither of us were hurt! Not even a scratch. Thank goodness for physical protection from the Lord and also for full coverage!
So here's why I like spring and summer soooo much more than winter...
1. Clear roads without ice and snow!!!
2. Cute, lightweight clothes like capris and sandals
3. Longer daytime hours; I love the sun!
4. Flowers and leafy trees
5. Waking up to birds singing
6. Swimming
7. Lightening Bugs (Fireflies for those of you not from the south or east) :)
8. Barbecues...yum
9. My hubby's and my birthdays!
10. Yummy summer fruits...watermelon
So come on spring, I'm ready for you!
